Old Business

d. Trail Status

Dirt was hauled in over the last couple of days and some dozer work was done to finish up some low spots.

Lamar and Greg put up 4 mile marker signs from Epley to Sumrall station. Five more are ready. The big sign at Epley will be put up Friday afternoon and will be ready for Saturday’s Trail Ride.

The directional signs were approved at the December meeting. The ones with the arrows going straight will have Longleaf Trace Trail Riders information on them. The ones with horses pointed left or right will have space to sell to sponsors. Last meeting approved $100 sponsor for 2 years. We’ve had 2 donations – $200 of Bermuda grass from A&R Feed, $100 of Rye grass from Farm Depot and $100 of fertilizer from Hub City West Feed. Dale Lucas also purchased a sign. There will be about 26 of these directional signs. These were only $30 per sign and will have about $10 in the sticker to put on them.

e. Trail Ride

i. Sumrall high school is going to allow us to use their parking lot for overflow. Greg will also send them a thank you for letting us use it.

ii. Food will consist of cornbread, red beans & rice.

iii. Greg will buy some bowls, napkins, cookies, water, red diamond tea. Group discussed taking these costs out of the money we collect on Saturday. Motion made by Dale, seconded by Marva.
