LONGLEAF TRACE TRAIL RIDERS

Minutes of July 30, 2009
The meeting of the "Longleaf Equine Trail Riders" was called to order by President Johnny Kerley on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 7:00 pm, at 4K Stables in Bassfield, MS.

Members Present: Johnny Kerley, Greg Lowery, Lesia Lowery, Brian Sparrow, Martha Sparrow, Charles Reid, and Liz Reid.

　

Approval of Minutes:

a. The minutes from the Mar. 26th meeting were read and approved by those present.

Old Business:

Johnny brought up the stalls at Carson project. He reported that there have been 6 stalls donated as of today. Brian and Martha said they would donate one as well. This means there are only 2 left to fulfill the "In Kind" requirement of our group for the grant to improve the trail.

Greg stated we need to set a work date to start the building process on the stalls. Charles suggested waiting until the weather cooled off a bit. Johnny said Oct. 24 would be a clear weekend for him. All present agreed. First work day at Carson will be Sat. Oct. 24 at 8:00 a.m.

New Business

Greg brought up setting date for the fall ride. Brian suggested the first weekend in Nov. All present agreed. The date for the fall ride is Sat. Nov. 7, 2009. We will leave from Sumrall station at 9:00 and ride toward Melby again. Liz thought we should serve chili and/or soup after the ride. All present agreed. The Reids, Sparrows and Lowerys have agreed to make a large pot of either chili or taco soup for the ride.

Next Meeting: Oct.29 ,2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the voting precinct in Sumrall..

Sumrall Voting Precinct: At 4 way stop in Sumrall, go west on Hwy 42. Take right at Center Avenue. Building is on the left hand side past Pawn Shop.

4K Stables: Go to the Texaco Station on Hwy 42 in Bassfield and take a right. Take the next right on General Blunt Rd. Go 3.5 blocks and turn left on Four K Stable Rd. There’s a sign on the right hand side.
