A nice side trip off the Trace is Mayor Blount's Contrail
just 2 miles from the Prentiss Trailhead. Jeff Davis Lake
is closed temporarily during construction of a new boat ramp
and repairs to the dam, but the trail is complete and you can
ride up to the lake perimeter. See more on Jeff Davis.

There are several nice bench area along the contrail.

Some sections got a surprisingly low grade,
and others did only a little better at 11 or 12%!
